The University of Texas at Austin is proud to be part of the STARS College Network, a group of 32 leading colleges and universities working together to increase access to higher education for students from small towns and rural communities.
As a STARS member, UT is committed to making sure students from these areas have the support, information and tools they need to feel confident as they explore their college options. From learning about admissions and financial aid to finding a sense of belonging on campus, we’re here to help students every step of the way.
Thanks to generous support from the Trott Family Philanthropies, STARS is able to reach more students across the country. This work is also strengthened by partnerships with organizations like rootEd Alliance, Khan Academy and Schoolhouse.world — all focused on helping students succeed in and beyond high school.
Our Commitment

Schoolhouse.world Certifications
Schoolhouse.world portfolios can be submitted as an optional part of your UT Austin application. The platform allows students to demonstrate subject mastery and tutor peers in areas like calculus, statistics and computer science.
These certifications don’t replace required application materials like transcripts or standardized test scores, but they can serve as supplemental evidence to strengthen your application.

If you’ve earned Schoolhouse.world certifications, you may upload your portfolio through MyStatus using the Document Upload System.
