STARS College Network

The University of Texas at Austin is proud to be part of the STARS College Network, a group of 32 leading colleges and universities working together to increase access to higher education for students from small towns and rural communities.

As a STARS member, UT Austin is committed to making sure students from these areas have the support, information, and tools they need to feel confident as they explore their college options. From learning about admissions and financial aid to finding a sense of belonging on campus, we’re here to help students every step of the way.

Thanks to generous support from the Trott Family Philanthropies, STARS is able to reach more students across the country. This work is also strengthened by partnerships with organizations like rootEd Alliance, Khan Academy, and Schoolhouse.world—all focused on helping students succeed in and beyond high school.

Our Commitment

The University of Texas at Austin is committed to ensuring that all students across Texas, including rural and small-town students, have access to the educational opportunities at a world-class public flagship research university. To this end, we leverage our expertise and resources so that students across the 254 Texas counties have ready access to learn about and receive assistance in pursing an education at the University. We are committed to increasing and strengthening the frequency and substance of our interactions between these communities and our recruitment staff.
