Division of Diversity and Community Engagement
UT Austin’s department dedicated to student diversity initiatives. The DDCE offers resources tailored to specific underrepresented groups and facilitates university-wide structuring for greater representation on campus.

Asian Americans/Pacific Islanders Student Resources
UT Austin has over 1,000 student organizations for Longhorns to create a community as unique as they are. The organizations below are dedicated to Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders students.
Asian Desi Pacific Islander American Collective (ADPAC)
The ADPAC is a student-run agency that provides weekly programming to empower and support the Asian American community at UT Austin.
Department of Asian Studies
The Department of Asian Studies encompasses a variety of centers and programs dedicated to the scholarship and cultural exploration of Asian countries. Centers include the Center for Asian American Studies, East Asian Studies, Middle Eastern Studies and Taiwan Studies.
Black/African American Student Resources
UT Austin provides success initiatives, resources and community building for our Black and African American Longhorns.
Afrikan American Affairs (AAA)
A student-run agency that provides leadership, development and support for Black students and students interested in Black culture. AAA hosts annual events such as New Black Student Week and Black Graduation.
Black and African American Student Life Guide
A comprehensive guide to the Black and African American Longhorn experience. This is a comprehensive guide with resources, organizations and programs created for the well-being, development and success of Black students at UT Austin.
Fearless Leadership Institute
FLI offers bi-weekly workshops, special events and an annual retreat for the empowerment and professional development of women of color.
Heman Sweatt Center for Black Males
An academic initiative dedicated to the academic excellence of African American male students. AAMRI is a faculty-led initiative that also provides K-16 outreach on best practices to cultivate Black male excellence.
John F. Warfield Center for African and African American Studies (WCAAS)
The John F. Warfield Center for African and African American Studies (WCAAS) is the research, programming and community engagement division of the Black Studies Collective at UT Austin. The WCAAS encourages creative work that fosters social justice for people of African descent around the world.
The Multicultural Engagement Center
A resource office for students within the Division of Diversity and Community Engagement. The office serves as a safe space for students and their organizations to engage. It also provides programs and services for underrepresented groups.

First-Gen Equity
This program from the Longhorn Center for Academic Equity (LCAE) connects first-gen students with the Longhorn First-Gen community. Learn about our living-learning communities for first-gen students, get tutoring and advising help from advisors who understand first-generation needs, discover the variety of first-gen tailored events we offer and apply for development programs to build your legacy.

Latino/Hispanic Student Resources
Hispanic students are the fastest growing ethnicity in our undergraduate population. We offer a variety of resources and support systems for Hispanic students, with specific outreach for students from the Rio Grande Valley.
Center for Mexican American Studies (CMAS)
The Center for Mexican American Studies (CMAS) is a leader in the intellectual development of Mexican American and Latina/o studies. CMAS facilitates the study of cultural practices, historical development and socioeconomic conditions of Mexican American and Latina/o communities.
Hispanic Serving Institution
The University of Texas at Austin became a Hispanic-Serving Institutions (HSI) in 2020. HSIs are institutions of higher education with 25% or more total undergraduate Hispanic full-time enrollment. As an HSI, we’re a proud national leader in ensuring our students thrive and succeed.

Latinx Community Affairs (LCA)
A student-run agency that unites and empowers Latinx students at UT Austin. This organization is housed under the Multicultural Engagement Center (MEC) and uses the MEC offices as an inclusive space for meetings.

LGBTQIA+ Student Resources
We’ve carefully adapted the concerns of the LGBTQIA+ community into various services on campus so all Longhorns receive the support and care they need to thrive.
Gender and Sexuality Center (GSC)
A division under the DDCE, the Gender and Sexuality Center serves women and the LGBTQIA+ communities through outreach, education and advocacy. GSC also provides opportunities for all members of the UT Community to explore, organize and promote learning around issues of gender and sexuality.
The Queer and Trans People of Color Agency (QTPOCA)
QTPOCA is a student organization housed in The Multicultural Engagement Center. The organization provides community and empowerment for trans people of color, by trans people of color. QTPOCA members are also active in educating the greater Longhorn community and encouraging visibility efforts on campus.
Military-affiliated and Veteran Student Resources

Student Veteran Association
Our biggest student organization for Longhorn veterans. UT SVA provides a community for veterans to connect with each other and attend professional and personal development events.

Native American and Indigenous Students
The organizations below are dedicated to the scholarship, support and cultural preservation of Native American students.
Native American and Indigenous Collective (NAIC)
The NAIC is a student organization that provides support and empowerment for Native American and Indigenous students while also providing education programming for the larger Longhorn community.
Native American Indigenous Studies (NAIS)
The NAIS supports the teaching and intellectual discourse around the languages, cultures, knowledges, histories, and current political struggles of indigenous peoples.
