The University of Texas Permian Basin (UTPB) combines the individual attention of a smaller university with Texas-sized opportunities. UT Permian Basin opened in the fall of 1973 as an upper-level university and elevated to a four-year university in 1991.

The University of Texas Permian Basin is home to nearly 6,500 students from all over 50 states and 35+ countries.  UTPB is a vibrant learning community with over 75+ undergraduate and graduate degrees within five academic colleges: Arts & Sciences, Business, Education, Engineering, and Health Sciences and Human Performance.
